Hi,

My name is Vince and I'm currently a college student in Ohio and am from and live in Pennsylvania. I'm going to be graduating college in the next few years and once I do I'm planning on moving to Nashville and making it my new home. I'm a drummer and can also sing and want to work my way into the music business as a musician/singer once I'm down there. I've been writing my own original lyrics for eight years now and am continuing to when I'm inspired. I write a lot of contemporary and soft country lyrics. My plan is to visit Nashville whenever I have the opportunity to. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me on a good starting point I could do now with starting my networking process with people who know the music scene there in Nashville? Any suggestions that anyone has for me I'd greatly appreciate it. I eventually once I move down there form a band with people who have the same ambition, determination, and focus I do on getting into the Country music business and touring.

My greatest thanks goes out to anyone who can stear me in the direction I want to go in.

Hey Vince! It sounds like you're following your dream - congratulations!

Once you move to Nashville, you'll need to get out and get totally involved in the whole musician / singer scene. Hang out on Music Row and definitely check out Bluebird Cafe, 4104 Hillsboro Rd. in Nashville. Phone: 615.383.1461. You'll meet a lot of people in the same shoes as you!

Also, keep active on this forum - you never know who you'll meet and what valuable information you may come across.

Best of luck to you!

Hey I'm going to be in town on august 24 and 25 with my singer, we have a gig booked for the 25th, but are looking for somewhere to play Friday night. Could anyone give me some direction in finding an open mic that evening? Thanks!
