I am a single mother working as a teacher and want to purchase a home. But don't think I can afford a home. I am tired of paying rent. Is there a way I can become a homeowner and not pay an outrageous mortgage? Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
With regards to rent or mortgage I would talk to Lottie McCormick (http://www.lottiemccormick.com)of SunTrust bank. She will be able to review your information and tell you in about 2-3 minutes what kind of mortgage would work for you. There are also a number of mortgage programs for incomes of all levels and some with financial aid for limited income borrowers that Lottie will be able to discuss with you such as THDA.

Lottie can be found online at www.LottieMcCormick.com There is a quick loan application (http://www.nashvillesmls.com/mortgage-form.php) that you can fill out that will enable Lottie to give you almost instant feedback. Just let Lottie know you found her via Nashville.com as we have a number of incentives (http://www.nashvillesmls.com/save-money-at-closing.php) for Nashville.com (http://www.nashville.com/realestate) clients to help you save money at closing :)

If you are interested in searching the Nashville homes available you can use the official real estate site for Nashville.com at www.NashvillesMLS.com (http://www.nashvillesmls.com) or just click on the RE/MAX balloon on the home page of Nashville.com (http://www.nashville.com)

Hope that helps

Gary :)
