So I need some info...

I'm primarily interested in narrowing down the surrounding areas of Nashville by school quality. I've been to the State of Tennessee Dept of Ed and have seen the report cards but they're a little too broad (or perhaps I haven't figured out the best way to review the information). Anyway I'm looking at the Rutherford and Williamson school districts, but there seems to be a ton of schools in these counties. So I'm looking for more info especially on areas to avoid.

I see Murfreesboro was ranked high on Money Mag's top places to live but I was curious if thats more of a College age area? I'm in my 30s, married with 3 elementary school children.

We may rent before buying and I want to be able to pick a school district and stay there so the kids won't have to change schools once we get there.

Thoughts?

The elementary schools of choice in Murfreesboro, TN are Erma Siegel, Northfield & Blackman. The middle schools of choice are Siegel & Blackman Middle. The high schools of choice are Siegel & Blackman High.

While the areas surrounding MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University) are college kids, the remainder of the community is comprised mainly of families with children. Shopping will improve once the The Avenue Murfreesboro is complete in the Fall 2007. Murfreesboro is a great place to invest in real estate due to above average growth.
