What suggestions can you give to a person who is looking to get into the music industry in Nashville? Not as a songwriter or musician, but involved in the business. Is getting your '"foot in the door" hard to do?

Immerse yourself in the whole business and lifestyle! Get involved in the music scene - go to writers' nights, hang out in Music Row bars, coffee shops, on Broadway, etc.

You'll need to be willing to introduce yourself to everyone - even the big guys! We know of someone who introduced himself to a 'big guy in the business' at a conference. A week later he met with him at his office and was given a lot of contacts. This type of networking surely helped him get his 'foot in the door'.

no I don't have any experience with production. I am not really sure where to begin if I want to get involved with music (not looking to be a musician). I listen to all kinds of music including rap. I am not saying I am a huge fan, but I do listen
