Hi there, i am very new to this forum, but really just wanted to say hello anyway. I am a singer, and am really pushing myself to find out all i can about Nashville. It has always been an ambition of mine to perform out there! I am doing all i can at the moment to find out about venues, and this site has been a great help! At the moment i only sing at weekends doing covers, and i am currently saving to record an album sooo, it will probably be a while before i get myself over there!! However i WILL get there one day!. So i will be popping in and out of here all the time for information. So if any of you have any information that would be helpfull to a Scottish act wanting to get over to brilliant Nashville then let me know.
Thank you!!

OK, so I have to know - is country music common in Scotland?!?!!

When you do come to Nashville, will it just be a visit, or are you thinking of staying a few months? The reason I ask is b/c it would be very difficult to pop over and play somewhere. You'd need to spend time here to get your foot in the door before playing at just about any venue. I don't mean to be a downer by any means, just wanted you to know so you're prepared!

Just some food for thought for ya! Good luck with you dream!

He he! i am hoping that by the time i get over there, i will have a tour organised. I wouldn't just jump over in the hope that i get a gig ( if only it was that easy!). I would of course hope that while i was over there i would be able to take in a lot of the sights.
Country music is popular here with a small dedicated fan base. I would say that most of the fans follow the classic country style, and i know that when i was in a country band and we played something 'modern', it was sometimes frowned upon! he he!.
My style i suppose is of the more modern variety, but enjoy listening to all different Country singers and bands, and recently performed at the same gig as Jim Lauderdale, who was there doing blue grass. He was great!. Unfortunately though i wasn't singing country i was doing backing vocals for a guy from Michigan doing gospel! ( i like a good challenge). It was a great night.
I thanks you very much for replying to my post. Hope to 'speak' soon!.
