A bunch of my alumni want to meet in Nashville for a weekend this summer. We are all turning 50 years old this year, so we arent looking for the teenybopper places. Would like recommendations on a hotel with a fun, upbeat bar inside the hotel. A sports bar would be perfect or along those lines. Even better would be a place within walking distance of other fun spots.

Please help!!

Regardless of age - you know you're going to have to spend at least one night in the 2nd & Broadway area! The crowd is truly mixed, but you can't go to Nashville and not do a little bit of hanging out in the honky-tonks!

Here are some other places your group may enjoy... The bar at Morton Steakhouse and the Oak Bar in the Hermitage. Also, there's a new area called "The Gulch" - it's by Union Station. Places to consider going - Sambuca and the Watermark. Sambuca has live music - jazz, soft rock, latin, classic rock. Watermark is right next door - great food and outstanding service. They also have a very nice bar.

A bit further away (not walking distance) is the Hillsboro Village. I'd recommend the Sunset Grill. They have great food and a good mix.
