Hey Everyone,

My wife and I are flying out to Nashville next weekend to check it out, as a possible relocation site, and were looking for some things to check out.

We are staying in Goodlettsville, and going to be checking out Hendersonville, and surrounding areas as well as Nashville, proper.

I've heard almost nothing but good things, and I'm really looking to see how things REALLY are, and not trying to see things thru the eyes of a tourist. Any help with where to go, what to check out, things to do, places to eat would be great.

My wife and I are both photographers, and will be using the relocation as a chance to start our own business up.

Thanks!

Jeff

Jeff -

Be sure to spend some time downtown. Even though there are always a lot of tourists - you'll find plenty of locals too. You can go during the day or night - the bars are open and there's always live music. You'll find a huge variety of people.

A favorite of mine for lunch is getting a burger at Roberts Western World right on Broadway - it's a neat place place and this may sound weird or you may think it's pretty cool, but it's decorated with cowboy boots everywhere! And, the burgers are awesome. Another great place to get a burger is at Rotier's.

Of course there are plenty of other places to eat - you have your high-end places like The Palm, Ruth Chris Steakhouse and The Capitol Grille (in the Hermitage Hotel) which are all very good. There's also your trendy places like Virago (sushi) and Sushiyobi. Demos' Steak and Spaghetti House has really good food - the service is great, the portions are plentiful and it's very reasonably priced.

I'm not too familiar with Hendersonville other than it's where Johnny Cash used to live. Favorite areas of mine include Green Hills, Belle Meade, Franklin, Brentwood. Murfreesboro is another great place to live - it was a bit 'behind the times' - but it's quickly catching up and it's more affordable than other high-end suburbs like Franklin and Brentwood.
