Hermitage By Night! Ghost Stories, Hauntings & History
The Hermitage, Home of President Andrew Jackson, 4580 Rachel's Lane, Nashville, TN 37076 / Throughout the month of October, The Hermitage will be opening its doors after-hours to a few lucky guests as they tour the grounds and mansion of Andrew Jackson's home. Join your host by the glow of the lantern to hear haunted ghost stories ranging from the plains of Chalmette, the site of the Battle of New Orleans, to the creepy stories of the mansion and the garden in a mixture of hauntings and history. Join us at 7:00pm on the following dates to receive your own personal fright-filled evening: Fridays, October 8, 15, 22 and 29, Tuesdays, October 12, 19, 26, Thursdays, October 14, 21, and 28. The tour lasts approximately one hour. Reservations MUST be made by 4:00pm on the day of the tour. Hot chocolate will be included with the price of admission. Admission: Adults: (18 & over): $20, Students: (12-18): $15 and Children (12 and under): $10. Members receive half-price admission. For tickets, call 615.889.2941, ext 243.

The Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, 3777 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211 / Family-Friendly Halloween Event - Ghouls at Grassmere is celebrating another year of “spooktacular” family fun! This annual Zoo fundraiser is a community favorite boasting exciting Halloween activities designed to appeal to families with children 12 and under. Halloween at the Bell Witch Cave & Farm
Bell Witch Cave, 430 Keysburg Rd, Adams, TN, 37010 / No supernatural story in American history is more famous than that of the Bell Witch. In fact, tales of the spirit were so widespread that they caught the attention of a General and future President, Andrew Jackson. There are many "ghost" or "haunting" tales in American History and when you investigate the many paranormal events it is hard to overlook the Bell Witch. The human interactions with the spirit date all the way back to 1817. Former president Andrew Jackson was quoted as saying "I had rather face the entire British Army than to spend another night with the Bell Witch" after he and some of his troops spent a night at the Bell's farm.
