I am ready to move out of NY and enjoy the lower cost of living in Nashville, TN. I have never been to TN. I am single and 41. No kids. I would like to spend at least the whole month of June or August to look around and see what areas I want to live in. I can't move until my lease is up which won't be until April 30, 2011. I have a year to prepare.
1. Are there any furnished apts that I can rent on a month to month or get an efficiency in $500-600 for the month in Nashville area? All I need is a place to sleep and have internet and phone access so I can also work from "home" as well. And then be able to look around at different areas in the afternoons while I do my work in between.
2. I have lived along beaches and rivers/lakes all my life. I heard of Harbor Island. Do they have apts for rent there?
3. What areas should I be looking at where I can get a 2 bed/2bath apt with amenities with river or water views? I can afford to spend up to $1300. preferably with heat and electric included. Is that realistic?
4. If I can't get river or water views, then I am open to living in downtown Nashville, I have also seen some luxury bldgs and lofts in downtown Nashville for same price as well.
5. Is anyone familiar with THE LEXINGTON at 510 Old Hickory Blvd? That looked nice too and within my price range. I don't want to be too far from Nashville. I would like to be close to the talent agencies that are there and to the theater to see plays and shows.

6. If anyone has information about getting acting work in movies/tv/theater in nashville or TN in general, I would appreciate that too.
Thanks for your help.
