Hey everybody!
Me and my friend is visiting Nashville for the 4th time this fall. We love it!
Does anyone know if there are bus-tours to Graceland, Memphis offered from Nashville?
And also; how many hours does it take to drive out to Dollywood from Nashville? Is it worth to see?
Really want to see Johnny Cashs graveside, I hear its located in Hendersonville. Is this far from Nashville?
Thank you for all ur help!

Cezz, Norway

Hey Andy!
Nashville has A LOT to offer :) I travel there once a year from Norway, and going back this fall. How long are you staying?
Some of the places I recommend that you go see is; Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (located downtown), here you get to see and listen to country music through history with legendary outfits, cars, instruments and so on. It`s fun, Ive been to it 4 times already :)
You should also go to Grand Ole Opry, and attend their live-shows, theres always a famous star playing :) A great experience.
Other places I would recommend are Ryman Auditorium, you should take a guided tour through the building, it`s very interesting, that is if the history of country music is of your interest :)
Gaylord Opryland Hotel is an attraction in itself, with an amazing rainforest with waterfalls, inside the hotel. I`m not sure if this hotel will be open when you get here, theres been a lot of damage to the hotel after the May-flooding.

Gray Line Tours is a tour-company that offers a lot of different interesting tours. The "Home of the stars"-tour is a must! Here you get a chance to see more of Nashville. Hers alink to their web-site, so you can check out what tours they offer:

Downtown Nashville, Lower Broadway is a place you have to check out when you are visiting Nashville. This is my top favourite attraction when I visit! The honky-tonk bars are lined up in a row, and offers spectacular music. live-non-stop :) Legends Corner, Tootsies, Crossroads, Roberts Western World are just to mention a few :)
It all really depends on what you are interested in, music, culture, sun and bathing, nature, shopping or just simply to have fun ;) Nashville has it all :) Just ask away if you need more information. Have you booked your hotel yet?

Hey there cezz - great to hear from you! When in the fall will you be viisiting? Gaylord Opryland has a much anticipated re-opening on November 15, 2010 and I can imagine the finished product will be more spectacular than ever!

Hey Joanne!
I can`t wait till I get back to Music City :) Once a year is definately not often enough ;)
I`m goin back in September/October, so I will miss out on the opening of Grand Ole Opry, sadly!!
I still hope there will be a lot happening when I`m in town! There`s always something to do in Nashville!
Appreciate this forum, it`s great to have someone to ask whenever there`s stuff I wonder about! Thanks for all your good help!

Any time Cecilie! Also to let you know you can still catch the Grand Ole Opry, they have just moved to other venues for their shows (mainly at the Ryman). And, I should have mentioned that the Grand Ole Opry House is scheduled to re-open on October 1st (Opryland, the hotel on November 15th). So, just maybe you'll have the opportunity to see a show and be one of the first to check out the newly restored Opry House!

Thats great news, I will be there for the opening! ;) Yeee-haw! I`m excited. Hey can I ask you one more thing? Now that Opry Mills is closed, is there any other places to shop in Nashville? I wasn`t planning on renting a car...Is there anything downtown? Usually stay on lower Broadway so I havent noticed any...like clothing and such...Thanks again :) :)

For shopping other than Opry Mills - - try Cool Springs Galleria and/or The Mall at Green Hills - both have a lot of store options. Not sure on a re-open date for Opry Mills Mall and they are being pretty tight lipped about giving an estimated date. As soon as wel know something we will certainly post the info here on our Nashville.com Forum.

Hi there

I am bringing mum to Nashville (from Australia) in either April/May 2011 (she is a huge Charley Pride fan) and already know that we want to see some of the major attractions (Country Music Hall of Fame, Bellemeade Plantation, Grand Ole Opry, Paddle Wheel Boat, etc) so am wondering if downtown is the best place of us to stay please? Mum has to use a walking stick to get around but can get on buses if we need to to get around (or taxi if we have to). Would downtown be the closest place to see these attractions? Also, as she loves older type country and music artists, where would be the best place to take her to see any in town at that time? Are there apartments available downtown to rent? We'll probably stay 7 days. She would love to see cotton fields also, are there tours to any (I assume the cotton picking isn't done by hand anymore, but by machine?).

Thanks in advance for some guidance.

Kim
