I was so happy to discover this forum!! We are finding ourselves fortunate enough to be spending a one night layover in Nashville on our trip to Florida (from Canada) in March of 2011. I know nothing like planning a year ahead...lol. Anyway I am traveling with my mother and my 17 yr old daughter, along with her best friend, and i am looking for info on how we can make the most of our one night in Nashville. Any tips on accomodations and suggestions on what we can see and do in such a limited time frame would be appreciated. We wont arrive til 5 or 6pm (on a Thurs). Any entertainment venues with nearby accomodations, (downtown?) for example that allow children under 21 with an adult would be ideal.

Thank you so much!!

For starters, you'll definitely want to stay in downtown Nashville. You have plenty of hotels to choose from - most economical is going to be the Holiday Inn Express on Broadway - but you've also got the Hilton, Wyndham, Sheraton, Renaissance, Hermitage (luxury) and Doubletree to name a few. You can then just walk everywhere - restaurants and honky tonk bars (most allow under 21 in w/ an adult). Your daughter and her friend might really like Wildhorse Saloon - they have live entertainment and serve food too. You also need to at least pop into Tootsies Orchid Lounge (don't think under 21 can be there past 7pm even w/ an adult - you'll need to check w/ them) - so be sure to go there first.
