I am looking for some honest information about private schools in the area. I would like to know good and bad experiences with some of the private school is the Nashville area and if they are a good value or not.

As for me, I have only dealt with the Brentwood Academy in Brentwood. I know the headmaster through the chamber of commerce and a number of ladies whose children attend. They have been very pleased with the school. I also know people whose children attend Father Ryan. Holy Family Catholic Church would be able to provide more information on that high school because that is the Catholic high school that their members' children might attend. The other private school of note is Franklin Road Academy. A neighbor's child attended because he wanted a special type program that was not available in the public schools. For example, use of computes is stressed more in the private schools.) There is of course the University School near the Vanderbilt campus that has high academic standards. The reason that many of the parents spend the "extra money" for the private school is the smaller classes, a more religious fellowship, and perhaps a specific strength that a child may have they want enhanced. Many of the public schools in Williamson County have the same strengths as these private schools because of the parent support. Other public schools in the area do not have the ability to offer the same benefits of the private schools. Every year the Tennessean publishes the standardized test scores from all the schools in the area which might help with you with the decision making. Checking all the schools out online may help with the strengths and weaknesses. Best of luck to you!

Personally, my wife went to Davidson Academy and said it was always somewhere we would send our kids.
