Hi, my name is Dana. I am 35 year old mother of 4 (2 mouthy but beautiful teenage daughters and a set of boy/girl twins who are in Heaven but would be 4 now). I am a social worker and became very ill with lupus. I am not disabled and I hate it. My life before consisted of lots of softball, skydiving, huge caseloads, did I mention ball games? every night? I also played the piano for my church for a couple of years.

Life took it's unexpected turns and tragedy and illness took over my body and my home. I am not able to care for my kids full time now or work. And I have recently gone into kidney failure. However, I am very happy. I love to sing and play piano and get lost in the music. I actually didn't know I could sing at all until a couple of years ago and so if I can have one more dream......well, here I am. I do my best to take good care of myself and still live independently. I love to write articles, music, poetry...whatever. I am just as happy as before; I just had to discover new interests and talents that didn't require a parachute.

I live in the Kansas City area and hope to coming to Nashville soon, for vacation, fun, singing and pursuing my newest dream....music! If I never make it, at least I had a fun ride.

Anyway, look forward to meeting all of you and hearing about Nashville. That's somehow not a place I imagined myself trying to get to, but I'll be planning my first trip within the month I think. Okay, nice to meet you. Take care.

Thank you. I'm sure the lists of people trying to get in on open mic nights are so incredibly long and competitive that that it will be a vacation, and the only singing going on will be in the car. lol. But I think it would be fun to go see what it's like. Especially since it's so miserably cold here right now. Going south sounds good right about now.
