I would like to know the areas in and around Nashville that have homes that have a view of the city lights. Thank you!

There are lots of homes scattered throughout Nashville where views of Nashville's city lights can be seen. I know there's an area over by Belmont University (5 mins from downtown) where homes have great views. You'll just have to find one for sale!! These homes can be quite pricey.

Another area which may interest you is in Franklin (15/20 minutes from downtown). While Franklin is a big area, there are lots of hills and some areas where the homes have a distant view of downtown Nashville.

Of course any home you find with a view - may be just a seasonal view, so keep in mind when you're looking that your view can quite possibly be much different from winter than in summer.

Are you interested in a condo? They're going up like weeds and the views can be spectacular!

I just read that Nashville Scene voted Katie Hill the "Best Neighborhood with a View". But I have a feeling prices are sky high....

Thanks so much Benjamin. I have kids going into high school so Franklin may be the best area. I will look up Katie Hill though. Your information is really helpful!

The views from Katie Hill are ok, but the area is really rough with junkyards, fenced storage lots and prostitution. My guess on the "best neighborhood with a view" award is the result of a little "ballot stuffing" by some realtors with new (somewhat overpriced) houses for sale in the area.

BnaBob - Wow! That's not good news! I hope 'tkee' sees your posting! I'm not familiar with Katie Hill at all - it was just something I came across.

What's your take on best places in / near Nashville with a city view?

I have two soon-to-be high schoolers and don't want them in a bad area! I hope I can get some good neighborhood suggestions that have some sort of city lights views and a good high school. Is that available?

Thanks so much for the help. Since I am in Utah, I can't look around for myself and the advice is really invaluable!

Katie Hill is really the Fern Avenue/I-65 area. It is reached by ****erson Rd..Trinity Ln or Whites Creek Pike. Its going to take a "true pioneering spirit" to live there. The only areas I can think of with (close-up) city views are areas that probably wouldnt be that great for raising kids. Also, the prices would be quite high. Maybe consider areas with more distant views...like the hills in the Bellvue area. There are parts of town with glimpses of the skyline from a distance. A realtor ought to be able to steer you toward them.

LOL.....Im laughing at how the first four letters of ****ERSON RD have been blocked out.

Hey there BnaBob - Sorry about having to censor those letters! Unfortunately, we've got to do this for quality control reasons. We hope you understand. ;)

Anyway, tkee, if you're interested in speaking with a realtor, we suggest you contact Nashville.com's Exclusive Realtor - Gary Ashton. Here's a link with all of his info: http://nashville.com/realestate/index.html And, here's his toll free number: 800-582-3204. Be sure to let him know Jojo from Nashville.com sent you in his direction.

Best of luck to you! :D
