Hey,

my band, ideas of august, are gonna be in Nashville from the 2nd of December till the 12th. I am wondering if any one knows of venues that typically allow out of town bands to play?? Also, are there any workshops or things that will benefit indie artists that we can take part in while we are in Nashville

Hate to be a downer, but it would be really, really tough for you guys to play in Nashville during your visit. Cadillac Ranch is a great place to play - but it's usually all local bands. Try calling the Nashville Songwriters Association at 800-321-6008 - see if there are any workshops going on during your stay that might be of interest to you and your band.

Don't know if you found anything but some good clubs to check would be:
The Basement
The Mercy Lounge
3rd & Lindsley
It might be a little late to get on the bills but it's worth a shot.
