Best way to experience Nahville

We are taking a short visit to your city from Kansas City. We like to experience the city, not go see stuff. We also enjoy driving the neighborhoods. How best do we do that in Nashville?

Quite simply in Nashville - just head downtown and walk along Broadway as well as 2nd Ave. Broadway is really the main street, but 2nd Ave is popular too. As for driving through neighborhoods - these are all great: Belle Meade, East Nashville, Bellevue and Green Hills.
