My boyfriend and I are currently living in New York. We are looking to purchase a home in the Nashville area. Both of us fell in love with Nashville when we went there for a visit last year. It's time for a change, however, neither one of us know a lot about Tennessee.
We would like to live no more then 20 minutes outside of Nashville.
I've read information on some areas to live in that are nice, but without out knowing the state that well, it's like picking a name out of a hat.
Can you help me figure out the best places based on safety, location (20 min from center of Nashville), and schools?
Also, we are VERY used to restaurants and stores being open really late in NY, will we be able to run out in the middle of the night to grab some food?
Thanks!
I greatly appreciate any thoughts!!

Hello,
I saw your posting about moving to Nashville. There are some great areas of Nashville. South of downtown Nashville there is Williamson County which is about a 20 to 30 minute drive depending on where you are in the County. This area has great schools and is very suburban. Closer to the downtown areal there are several more urban neighborhoods with great schools and a great vibe. The homes will be older with more character and charm. There is East Nashville, Germantown, 12th South. I have more information on my website at: therealestategalnashville.wordpress.com/ or feel free to contact me at mariapatton@att.net. I hope this helps.
Warmest Regards,
Maria Patton

Thank you so much for your help. Your website is very helpful.
One of the areas that you mentioned was Germantown. I heard that this area wasn't the safest place to live in Nashville. Am I mistaken?
Thanks again!

Hi, I saw your post and thought that you might want to take a look at one of Nashville's best kept secrets, Harbor Island. It is a private gated community with a sailing club in a great school district. Unfortunately, we are going to be relocating and have to leave this wonderful place. Our kids have had a blast growing up on the island and we have felt very secure letting them run around and be kids here.

I have a job opportunity in Nashville and am considering relocating from Las Vegas, but I know nothing about the area, or the state for that matter. Can anyone offer some feedback on how it is living there?
Thank you!

Nashville is a great place to live - it's a very friendly city (good ole southern hospitality) and there are a lot of things to do. Living in or around downtown Nashville is great. If you're into the music scene, another bonus for you - if you like going out to restaurants, you have plenty to choose from. Downtown Nashville has tons of honky tonk bars that have live music day and night. Also if you're a sports fan, you've got the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators that play right downtown. Have you ever been to Nashville? I'd suggest you take some time to visit and check it out! And by the way, if you already have a job lined up - you are way ahead of the game! Best of luck to you!
