Welcome back Team David followers,
As promised I am back to my usual positive self with my positive attitude recharged after my dump on the Westboro Baptist Church and Bro. Fred Phelps. Thank you letting me vent, I needed to unload some pressure I had built up inside.
Today marks the somber anniversary of the catastrophic events of September, 11th 2001. This tragic incident touched the lives of many worldwide. I created a link on both my personal and Team David Facebook pages. During the next 24 hours, starting at midnight EST on 9-11-2013, please take a moment to post a comment to share your experience with me. Thank you.
I was at home, alone, in front of the television watching the horror unfold before my eyes in total disbelief and disgust. Minute by minute new details and speculations were being poured out by all the media outlets. Then within 10 minutes I recall watching live as the second jet was deliberately crashed into the second tower. The plume of jet fuel ignited in the air and the explosion that followed produced an ashy white cloud of smoke around the financial area of New York. Then I knew for sure an act of evil upon America had been committed by some unknown faction group. Next another jet is crashed into the Pentagon building and I watched in terror and fear of the unknown which seem to be enveloping all around me. Finally, the last jet is forced down by a group of brave American men and women who saw it was their duty and responsibility to bring down the terrorist highjackers. I prayed for the many Americans who had died unmercifully that day.
I was also the Co-Chairing the Davidson County Master Gardeners Exhibit at the Tennessee State Fair during this time. I can recall walking around the fairgrounds and midway that afternoon, but it was not the same, nor would it be for the remainder of the event. The mood of the public was solemn and grave. The fairgoer’s who did manage to come, did so as part of a distraction from the onslaught of media coverage during the next 72 hours. I noticed the sky was eerily quite as all the passengers jets had been grounded under the executive orders from President Bush and the misty vapor contrails which were common to see, had disappeared from the blue skies.
Yes, American loss her innocence this day. We all lost a few of our freedoms in order to feel more protective with ourselves as we all felt this should never happen again. I would like to salute all of the medical staff, firefighters, first responders, police, ambulance drivers, and anyone else I failed to mention who lent a hand of assistance or who tragically died at their post doing a job they were trained to do. My prayers and blessings to all who suffered a loss that day.
Well folks, this is another wrap up of the day. As always, thanks for your support and shares.
Don’t forget to PLEASE add your comments to my 24 hour 911 Memorial Post.
Go Team David!
Stay positive until tomorrow…
