Welcome back Team David followers,
I am doing well this Monday, still pluggin’ and chuggin’ along on the rails of life. Most of my pain which I have been experiencing recently has abated and I am almost back to my normal, usual self once again. I am sure my nurse Louise will be surprised this week when she comes for my in-home visit. She never knows what I might be up when she stops by when I am feeling this well. I will probably be out in the yard trimming the rampant wisteria vines or tilling up the summer garden.
The week end got off to a great start. I gathered my pumpkins and gourds from the garden and placed them on the front porch stairs. I will gather more autumn foliage in the coming weeks to partner with the gourds to finish out the fall scene. On Sunday our Tennessee Titans won the opening game of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am sorry about your loss Yellow Towels. I sure hope we can keep the momentum up and have a winning season this year.
Today I would like to share the positive role models who truly encourage me as well as others. The remarkable individuals are all noteworthy of my praise and accolades.
Today marked the 11th Season premiere of the The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I have watched her in the hilarious reruns as I have anxiously waited all summer long for her premiere event which kicked off today. She is my hero. Ellen brings out the best in people and her positive outlook on life is truly awe inspiring to me as she provides me with a dose of laughter every day. Her generosity in helping the less fortunate and needy gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Plus the girl can dance! Thanks ELLEN for being you and all the wonderful, marvelous things you do for other people. Can we please give her a round of applause?
I want to congratulate long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad for her positive attitude and her great motivational mantra of “Never give up!” is one I can relate to as I never want to give up. I watched and cheered her on as she was finally able to walk out of the water onto the beach of Key West to set record swim from Cuba. She showed a great amount of determination and spunk to meet her goal. It goes to show that everyone out there has the drive within them to achieve, but you must first gas up your mind and body with positive thoughts if you expect to succeed. Way to go Diana!!!
And finally, I also want to congratulate professional tennis great Serena Williams for her win at the U.S. Open. She is truly a remarkable tennis player and she is another positive role model for all. Her ability to demonstrate good sportsmanship conduct and her overall professional attitude on and off the court are to be held in high esteem. I salute you Serena!!!
Well folks this is a wrap-up for the day. Everyone continue to stay positive and thanks again for your support.
Go Team David!
Stay positive until tomorrow…
But for each of us, isn’t life about determining your own finish line?
- Diana Nyad
